Tuesday, 24th May 2011: Martin O' Connor, Clinical Leader of Clare Children's Services, gave a talk entitled "Clare Childrens Services - Present and Future". Our AGM was on Tuesday, 8th February, 2011 at The Auburn Lodge Hotel at 8pm. The guest speakers on the evening were Anita Hayes from Ciunas, a therapy centre based in Feakle offering, among other services, massage to carers at very competetive rates and Emer Sherry who manages the Disabilityinfo.ie website - a terrific resource for parents and others. The Clare Federation sponsored the FACING THE FUTURE event (wills, trusts and financial planning for families including people with disabilities) along with the Lisnagry Association on Wednesday, 26th January, 2011. Click here for access to information communicated at this event.
Our October meeting was held on Thursday, 28th October 2010 at the Auburn Lodge in Ennis. We invited Paul Woulfe, Manager of the Co. Clare Citizens Information Service, to present on the subject "Entitlements for Children with Disabilities". This was a very informative session - we learnt that the Citizens Information Service is an important resource and should be a main port of call for all parents of children with disabilities.
