St.Gabriel’s School is located in Dooradoyle, Limerick, adjacent to St.Gabriel’s Centre and is one of five similar schools in the country. It is a primary and post primary day school for children from 4-18 years old with multiple, physical/sensory disabilities and/or developmental delay. St.Gabriel’s Centre provides health related supports to the children who attend the school through the Treehouse Early Intervention Team. |

The Clare Crusaders clinic was established in 2007 to help children with special needs in the areas of Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome and a variety of other conditions. The clinic is based in Barefield, Ennis, Co. Clare, providing speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy to 120 children in the Clare region free of charge. All funds are raised through volunteers and the charity does not receive government funding. |

Voices for Galway is a collaboration between the Galway Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland and the Department of Speech Therapy in NUIG. This model allows people with Down Syndrome to access Speech and Language Therapy in a state of the art facility in NUIG. In return speech and language students gain clinical experience on site. The entire project is funded through charitable donations and fund-raising by the Voices for Galway project. It receives no state or institutional funding. Two senior specialist Speech and Language therapists and an Occupational therapist currently work on the project as well as an administrative assistant. Since the start of the project, 85 members have been assessed and currently over 50 are receiving Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy. |

It opened in 1996 and was purpose-built to provide accommodation and support to 10 adults with physical/sensory disabilities and a range of support needs. Galway Cheshire is part of a new community environment, with recent housing and retail outlets developing in the area. Rathfredagh Cheshire Home, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick opened in 1971. It accommodates 26 service users. The courtyard supported-living apartments accommodate 5 service users, separate from the main house. See the website for more locations. |

There are 18 Camphill communities in Ireland providing services to around 500 adults. The communities practice bio-dynamic agriculture, offering opportunities for people to work with organic farming and gardening methods. Some communities are located in urban places where shops and cafes sell the farm or garden produce, crafts, and baked goods. |
