Recent Court Ruling on Assessment of Needs

Here is the link to a summary of the recent High Court case on a child's eligibility for an Assessment of Need under the Disability Act 2005 on the www.humanrights.ie site.  The judge clarified that the age limit for an application for an Assessment of Needs will be based on the date that the Act commenced (i.e. June 2007) rather than the age of the child at time of application for an Assessment of Needs.

Here is the link to the OPOA (Office of the Disability Appeals Officer; www.opoa.ie) determination on the same case, in much more detail. Click on AP0001.
